I cannot tell you which version was featured on the single, but I can say for sure that Domino's "Getto Jam" was released in both a censored and uncensored version. The lyrics were resung in some parts to remove profanities.
The version featured on Def Jam's Greatest Hits is the censored version. Also, the full-length Domino album was released in a censored and uncensored version.

Ah, this one I know well. The cassingle featured the LP Version b/w the Instrumental. I spent a lot of time trying to find the import CD which had both, and finally did years later. I think my import CD single also has a radio edit on it.

I have 2 "different" promo CD singles for this:
OSK 77298
1-Radio Edit (listed 4:19; actual 4:18)
2-Instrumental (listed and actual 4:41)
It appears this track, originally released on Outburst, was soon picked up for national release by Chaos/Sony. Just FYI, we also got in a promo CD single for this on Outburst, as an independent release. OB-PRO-2461 contains the 2 exact same mixes/times, so if you see either of these in your travels, just know that the cassingle/LP Version does not appear on either one of these specific promos. But the "Radio Version" is probably the same one that Brian currently has on his import CD single.

Hey Aaron, the lyrics are difficult to interpret, so where are the offending words and Brian when you say the cassingle had the LP version on it, was it the censored LP version or the uncensored LP version?

the cassingle issued as outburst 77298 contains, on the A-side, the "lp version" and on the B-side, the "radio edit" version......i will note that the version on the cassingle, although it is the dirty lp version, it is a fade of the true lp version because the song on the full lp/cd version tracks into the following song.....i found the correct cassingle version on the import cd single issued as columbia 660040-2 and is track number 2, lp version.....

Damn, my memory is terrible anymore. I thought the B-side was the LP version. Oh, well.

There are several offending words that were changed. Going from my memory, here a couple:
First verse uncensored--
"Saturday morning, just gettin' up / with a hangover, smelling like a f***"
First verse censored--
"Saturday morning, just gettin' up / with a hangover, smelling like a butt"
Second verse uncensored--
"My homies are down, chillin' in the hood / but them hood b******, no they ain't no good"
Second verse censored--
"My homies are down, chillin' in the hood / but them hood hoochies, no they ain't no good"
Third verse uncensored--
"Rollin' down the shore, guess what we saw? Some b****** / The finest one is on my nuts, she's blowing kisses"
Third verse censored--
"Rollin' down the shore, guess what we saw? Some hoochies / The finest one is jockin' me, she's showing booty"
Wow, those are some profound lyrics...
