Both my commercial and my promo 45 for this one have both a listed and an actual time of (2:53). All CDs currently in the database for this song run between (3:11) and (3:17), and are all probably candidates for an "LP length/version" designation.

Fortunately, we should be getting the mono 45 version within a year on an upcoming volume of Hip-O Select's "Complete Motown Singles" series.

Brian, you are NOT kidding! The first 6 boxes ('59-'61, '62, '63, '64, '65 & '66) are among my most prized CD possessions; pricey as they are, worth every penny to me. Can't wait for the last 6 boxes ('67 thru '72!)

Yeah, I have '64 and '65, and even my friend who raised an eyebrow at my buying them had to admit, after looking at the huge color booklets and all the discs, that they were worth the money.
I guess "We Can Work It Out" didn't come out till 1971, though, so we won't get it till mid-to-late 2008. The series is scheduled to conclude with 1972 at the end of 2008. But 1967 should be coming out within the next month or two.

Actually, what I'm really excited about is the 1970 volume, as it will contain two of my most sought after mono single mixes: "Mama's Pearl" and "Indiana Wants Me." (I assume they're releasing the Rare Earth label singles, since they're releasing Gordy and Tamla singles.)
If the pattern of previous releases is followed, it should have both short and long single versions of "Indiana Wants Me." This should come out in the first third of 2008. One year, baby, one year.
