Mono CD appearances of Gladys Knight & The Pips' "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" run 2:52, while stereo CD appearances fall within the 2:42-2:47 range. Can anyone verify if the 2:52 mono mix reflects the 45 run time length, while the shorter stereo mix more closely resembles the LP length?

Todd, my commercial 45 has a listed time of (2:52), and is definitely gone a second earlier than that, at (2:51). However, I believe we can safely say that the "mono version" statement you've made above has now been confirmed. Hopefully, Pat has the original LP handy, and can confirm the stereo portion of your thoery.

The stereo vinyl LP appearance runs (2:45) not (2:58) as stated on the record label.

I have two versions of this song.
Gladys Knight & The Pips Ultimate Collection - Mono 2:53
British Motown Chartbusters Vol.2 - Stereo 2:45
I laid them side by side to see the difference apart from the obvious stereo/mono. The stereo version runs slightly faster and fades 10 seconds earlier and that's after I adjusted the speed.
