My commercial 45, which is mono, has a listed time of (2:58) and an actual time of (2:59). I only post this information because all eight CDs currently in the database for this song run between (3:04) and (3:06).

"Heavy Makes You Happy" comes from The Staple Singers' 1971 vinyl LP The Staple Swingers on the Stax label and I'd bet all CD appearances to date are based on the LP length. Does anyone have the vinyl LP who can confirm the run time?

The actual LP running time is (3:05) not (2:58) as stated on the record label

if you fade the 'best of' cd (stax 60-007) for 0:11 from
2:48 to 2:59 you can effectively re-create the vinyl 45
version....
