I'm presently searching for the 45 version of Mongo Santamaria's "Cloud Nine" on CD. According to my research, the Collectables label reissued a two-fer of Santamaria's albums, Mongo '70 and Mongo Montreux, on one CD in 2000 under catalog #6401. Although this CD release is not currently listed in the database, the track listing indicates that "Cloud Nine" is on this disc.
Does anyone have the Collectables Mongo '70/Mongo Montreux CD who can tell me if "Cloud Nine" appears in its 45 version form (it could well be that the 45 version is the same as the original LP version).

Cloud Nine appeared on the Columbia vinyl LP "Stone Soul" which was a studio LP. I believe the appearance of Cloud Nine on the Mongo Montreux cd is a live performance.

Good catch, Pat. I was thinking about taking my chances on purchasing the Collectables disc, but it could well contain a live performance of "Cloud Nine".
Does anyone know if the commercial 45 is identical to the studio LP, and has either ever surfaced on a domestic or import CD?

before i start to attempt the edit on this one, has anyone
done it already?...i tried to edit and the it looks like i
can be done.......as the 5:44 version i have sounds the
same to me......it's just a little advanced for me and
being an instrumental, it's tough to get the edit points
right....

Since it does not appear in the database, does anyone know the timing
of the Stone Soul LP version? And, can it be "made" from the 5:44
version? Is the "Greatest Hits" version another "edit"?
