Both sides of my promo 45 have a listed time of (3:50), but both sides have an actual time of (3:53). Just FYI, my commercial 45 has a listed time of (3:59) and an actual time of (4:01), now bringing it to within a single second of its "Wingspan" CD appearance.

How does the 3:53 promo 45 version differ to the 4:01 commercial 45 version? Shorter intro? Early fade? Edit?

Having just acquired a dub of the promo 45, I can report that the difference between the promo and commercial 45 is simply a shortened intro.
If you want to recreate this, just snip off the first :07 so your file begins on the downbeat at that point.
Nice and easy.

So just into the bass/keyboard section? That is a short intro. Great song though.
