Aaron mentioned the first note of Nazareth's "Love Hurts" being chopped off. This reminds me: Does anyone have a version of the single mix of Expose's "When I Looked At Him" where it doesn't sound like the first note is partially chopped off?

Hi guys, I know you'll appreciate my real rapid response on this... You're right, EdisonLite. Nice catch. I just compared my DJ 45 (AS1-9868)of this song to the GH version and indeed, the 1st 1.7 3-note part of the intro is missing. Couldn't get it from the LP version either as it sounded entirely different. So, like any self-respecting forum fan, I took it from a clean 45 and it sounds fine. Now my next question, eriejwg, does your CD have the chopped off intro or is the correct one. No hurry on this (haw!!)

Doesn't sound chopped off, but I'm sure Pat would have added a note to the 45 version description detailing it if it was true.

I'm sure he would have, and when he compares the 45 and the LP versions, he will probably want to. It doesn't sound chopped off because it's a clean edit of the first 3 introductory notes (1.77 seconds). Trust me, it is true. Don't believe it? Get a 45 and compare for yourself.

This is odd as my commercil copy of "When I Looked At Him" matches the cd appearance on Greatest Hits. My matrix number is AS1 9868 SA SP1. Could there be 2 pressings of this 45?

I have the same 45 as Pat, with the same matrix number, and it matches the
version on my Greatest Hits CD.

My stock commercial 45 have the same matrix number as Pat's and Paul's. Also the 45 is identical to the commercial cassette single version. (Actually the cassingle run time is :01 shorter than the 45.)

Well, Pat's comment intrigued me, so I examined my 45 and saw the same numbers. I noticed mine was a promo, but other than that there was no difference. So I dug out the CD in question, thinking there might have been 2 versions of the CD, and also thinking I'd like to prove that I'm not out of my mind. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to prove either. In fact, quite the contrary. There it was - the same one that you guys have been reporting. And the only possible explanation is that, although I thought I had checked it with the CD, my comparison was with what was ripped onto my computer from the CD; and in trimming the dead air before and after (which had been done years ago), I somehow much have clipped off that first 1.7 seconds. So, with hat in hand, here is my peace offering: you guys may put a pie of your choice in my face (with the exception of a cow pie, that is). Pat, you may put two pies in my face (rank has privileges, you know). If you cannot find my face, then anyone's face will do. This offer is good through March 31st and is void where state law prohibits pies in faces. Seriously, guys, sorry for the mistake.

Besides the single mix and album mix of "When I Looked At Him", the "What You Don't Know" CD also has an extra cut at the end called the "When I Looked At Him (Suave Mix)", clocking in around 7 minutes. However, I've also seen listings for other versions of this song clocking in at 7 minutes, one called the "remix" and one called the "Acoustic version". I've also seen a different Expose CD that lists a 7 minute version called the "Acoustic Version/Suave Mix". I'm starting to think that maybe there's just one 7 minute version with all these descriptions, but does anyone know for sure? Are there actually two different 7 minute versions? Pat, your database lists a 6:59 "acoustic version" on the "Dance Remixes" CD (which I don't have). Can you compare that version with the "Suave Mix" at the end of the Expose/"What You Don't Know" CD and determine if they are one and the same? Thanks.

The full title on the "Dance Remixes" cd is "Suave Mix" (acoustic version) and yes it is identical to the version found on the "What You Don't Know" cd track 13, the "Suave Mix".
