Maybe I'm asking the wrong board, because the version I'm looking for is NOT the original 45 single, but the number of radio people, completist, and general memorbilia fanatics here, lead my search here.
A radio station in Santa Barbara, California (whose format has flipped lots of times since 1987) used to play a version of this song when they were a CHR that I just loved, but could never find.
It "dubs up" the vocals and does other studio tricks to what is otherwise a straight pop song "take take take, take it to the bridge, throw it overboard..."
I have no idea what the length is, name of the mix is, whose mix it is, or even if the label commissioned it, but most importantly, I don't know how to get it.
Has anyone here ever heard what I'm talking about?
