my commercial 45 issued as atco 7342 states a run time on the label as 3:58 but it actually runs 4:19 and is an edit of the full lp/cd version running 5:20.....i found the cd/lp version on an import cd titled "rock classics:eddie schwartz:private life (best shots)"....issued in germany, but it has no dated release date.....issued on long island records as "lirc 00014"...it states "limited edited" no 1097 of 2000.....this 45 info should noted in the db...btw...thx aaron for making the perfect edit to match the 45 version...

My commercial 45 and the "Short Version" of my promo 45 both have the exact same timing details as Ed has noted above (listed 3:58; actual 4:19). However, the "Long Version" of my promo 45 has a listed time of (5:14) and an actual time of (5:12). Since Ed had cited an LP running time of (5:20), I pulled out my original "No Refuge" LP. It does have a listed time of (5:20) and an actual time of (5:18). Bottom line: The (5:18) LP version version runs :06 longer than my (5:12) promo 45's "Long Version", simply FYI, for any interested "fanatical sticklers".

Bringing back an oldie here.....

Guys, is the 45 version an early album fade, or are there other cuts?

*BUMP*

Does the 4:19 edit fade early, chop the intro, do both, do something else?

If Aaron's recreation is correct (and we know that it is), then the 45 has an edit that takes about 11 seconds out of the intro, an edit that takes about 16 seconds out of the solo, a hastened fade, and is pitched WAY up from the LP version.

I created it using a vinyl dub supplied by Ed. Unless his turntable was
running really fast that day, the pitch of my re-created file should be
accurate. One other possibility here is that the LP version on CD, again
supplied by Ed, may run way too slow. I didn't have a vinyl LP to check
it against.
