My commercial 45 has a listed & actual time of (3:45), but this is not the reason for my post. My promo 45 has this exact same version on one side of it, but calls it the "New Mix"; the commercial 45 has no "New Mix" reference on it, however. The other side of my promo contains the "LP Version". It also has a listed time of (3:45), but the actual time for this side is (3:27).

Yes, that "New Mix" is not really a different mix, but rather it's the 45 version, which is an edit of the LP version.

Yes, Aaron, I did realize that. I was only trying to explain (and obviously, not very well!) that the promo 45's "New Mix", in case someone happened to see it up for sale somewhere, wasn't at all a 2nd, unique promo 45, but, in fact, is the original stock 45 version.

Excellent idea, Jim. Thanks for the great info, because that's probably something I would've done!

I'm a little confused on this one; is the "New Mix" 3:27 or 3:45?
If it's 3:45 and the LP version is 3:27... how can the "New Mix" be an edit of the (shorter) LP version?
If the times have just been reversed, can anyone tell me the edit points to make the LP version the "New Mix?"

Excellent question with a simple explanation: the "edit" actually repeats
a segment of the song, thus making it longer. It was a good 8 or 10
years ago when I created the edit, and at the time, I did not hear any
mix differences--just editing. Full disclosure, though, I may have been
working with a low quality 45 dub that wouldn't necessarily reveal very
tiny mix differences. So, I don't think it's actually a different mix, but I
will retrieve my 45 asap and check it again.
