I just obtained the vinyl 45 of La Paloma by billy Vaughn and am surprised to say that none of the cd listings in the database match the 45. Does anyone have the original vinyl LP that contains La Paloma that can try to match the cd appearances to the vinyl LP so that a determination of LP versus 45 version may be made here? I doubt that back in 1958 there was a different version on LP and I know Billy Vaughn did rerecord a lot of his early hits later on to get them in stereo.

my commercial 45 for the billy vaughn song 'la paloma'
issued as dot 15795 lists the run time on the label as 2:10
and does indeed run that length....it is an edit of the
full length lp version, which i can't confirm the run time
as (maybe mark can) as he did the edit....this 45 run time
info s/b added to the db.....

The LP version I have runs 2:27 and is stereo. The 45
version edited out a section from :57 - 1:15. There was
also a minor pitch adjustment.
This copy was sent to me as a wav file, but I'm assuming
this is the same version that is on the Dot stereo LP of
same name.

The 2:27 LP version is the correct Dot Stereo LP
version.

I have a copy of the Billy Vaughn mono album Dot DLP 3140, an the title track La Paloma is listed at 2:10 and indeed does time out at 2:10 with a cold ending. Is the 2:27 stereo lp version an example of Billy Vaughn re recording in stereo and recording a longer version?

I suspect La Paloma was re-recorded for the Stereo LP, I
also have the mono LP, and it times out at 2:10. Also,
the possibility exists that an alternate take might have
been used for the Stereo mix.
