my commercial cassingle issued as flavor unit 77177 contains, as the A-side, the "original mix" which runs 4:16 and is identical to the version from the cd
(M) (4:16) Epic 57634 Hey Mr. D.J. The 4th Compilation
all the 4:10 versions either track into the next song or are stopped early for some reason...this should be noted in the db...

Here's another "Rapless Edit" I've uncovered from my TM library. This is the only version my station ever played when the song was a hit. I can't seem to find promo details that indicate a "rapless" version, although I thought for sure I had seen one. The only one I could find info on had these tracks:
Original Mix (4:16)
Thank God For Dee Jay's Dub (4:16)
D.J. Apella (3:49)
Can anyone help with this one?

Aaron, the promo CD single tracks and listed times you just detailed above are for ESK 5245. And, for once, all 3 tracks' actual times are exactly the same as the listed times. Aaron, you are correct, you did see a promo CD single that included a rapless version, and here are the details for that promo:
Zhane-"Hey Mr. D.J." (ESK 5568)
1-Original Mix (listed & actual time 4:16)
2-Rapless Mix (listed 3:20; actual 3:19)
3-Thank God For Dee Jay (no "s" shown on this promo) Dub (listed & actual 4:16)
FYI, we did play the "Rapless Mix" on the air back in 1993.
