I was going to edit the LP version of this song down to the single version,
but the only single version I have of this is from the vinyl 45, but the mix is
different than what's on the CD Collective Soul (Atlantic 82745). You
can tell from the beginning; on the 45 the opening guitar is mixed in the
middle, and on the CD the guitar is mostly in the left channel. If anyone
could check their cassingle or CD single, which mix is the single mix?

Paul:

My copy is from RPM Top Hits U.S.A. - RC 31. The guitar begins in the left channel, the track is labeled as an Edit and runs 4:09.

Paul, here is my promo CD single information:

Collective Soul-"December" (PRCD 6158)
1-Edit (listed 4:09; actual 4:10)
2-LP Version (listed 4:43; actual 4:45)

Neither of these promo CD single mixes have the opening guitar mixed in the middle; both mixes feature the guitar mostly in the left channel.

Does anyone have run time info for the commercial single?

Thanks for the info. After I edited down the LP version to match the edits,
the edited version timed to 4:11 (barely). The vinyl 45 must be the
exception.
