I have two different commercial 45 pressings for this. The first one I bought has a listed time of (3:45), but an actual time of (3:36). Deadwax info is "ZSS165323". But my other commercial 45 has both a listed & actual time of (3:45), with deadwax info of "ZSS 165323-2A".

Jim, we've all been witness to your extraordinary effort to manually time every Top 40 commercial and DJ 45 in chronological order by peak chart position from the 1970s. Now that you've provided run time info for Gary's Gang's "Keep on Dancin'", which reached #41 on Billboard but grazed the Top 40 on the Cashbox chart in 1979, is this an indication that you've officially completed your '70s mission? If so, allow me to congratulate you on your exhaustive and tireless effort! Your info, in conjunction with Pat's database, has been vital in helping me acquire Top 40 singles exactly as they were purchased in record stores and heard on radio. I very much look forward to the next phase of your project, which you mentioned will entail timing each and every Top 40 vinyl 45 from the 1960s. I'm sure this will in turn spur many interesting 45 vs. LP version board discussions from this decade, especially as it pertains to differences in mono and stereo mixes.

You are correct. Todd. At long last, that was my last 1970's post, at least for the time being. Although I still don't own/can't find about 1% of the Top 40 peakers of the 1970's at this moment (and I'm currently working to reel in a good many of those, as we speak, so some future 70's song posts will no doubt still be trickling in from me.) It's honestly taken me a tremendous amount of time and effort, especially when you consider that about 75% of the 70's 45 did fall within the Board's established ":00-:01-:02 listed/actual time differences are not noted" category. Refecting back, I believe that Pat's original policy, to "post time differences of :03 or more", has really done what it was supposed to do here. Becuase of it, many subtle edit/speed differences have been uncovered, thanks to these "borderline-insignificant" :03 or :04 time variations (like with the "Every 1's A Winner" (3:35 vs. 3:39), :04 "incorrect edit" difference, that Aaron has just solved for us!) But, for me, the same amount of time and effort had to also go into figuring out when there weren't differences, that (thankfully) didn't require posts, unless the database CDs had time variances. Like you, Todd, I believe it to be impossible to be certain that what we think we may already have on CD as the "45 Version" of actually IS, unless the original 45 is closely examined first, in all cases. And since I happen to own 99% of these 45s, and realizing that fact that most of you guys don't, it became apparent to me that I would need to "step up" here, for the cause. Thanks for the kind words, Todd - they are very much appreciated.

Jim, it goes without saying your correct 45 timing posts has allowed me to 'fix' my always growing collection by having the proper 45 versions. Your efforts certainly have not gone unnoticed. Thank you, sir!

The same goes to all of you. Finding Pat's site was one of the best things I could have done.

Fond memories of playing this song at a small FM in the Meadville, PA area in 1979. I know the kids that were into disco loved the song, as did I. Too bad it didn't do better chartwise, as it was a very catchy track!

FYI, the (3:36) version is just an earlier fade of the (3:45) version.

If I could find the first Gary's Gang album on CD, I'd probably buy it.
