In the 10th edition, Giorgio Moroder's "Chase" is shown on the Casablanca Records Greatest Hits CD (Casablanca 341526253) with the comment: (45 version). Unfortunately, it turns out this is incorrect.
I compared the 3:39 version of "Chase" on this CD to the actual 3:37 commercial 45 version Ed e-mailed me on mp3 and the two are not quite the same. The version on the Casablanca disc repeats an extra synthesizer loop from the :19 to :23 mark. If you were to edit out this passage, you would in essence have the 45 version (though the fade on the 45 runs about :02 longer than on the CD). I'm thinking the engineer who worked on this song for the Casablanca disc tried to recreate the 45 from the LP version, but just didn't get it quite right. Therefore, the comment on this CD should be changed from (45 version) to (neither the 45 or LP version).
