Although Pat DOES have both later editions/re-issues of this song's original parent album, 1983's Reach the Beach, currently listed in the on-line database (MCA 31025 & 088113134), I noticed that he's actually missing the original (and rarest) U.S. version, which came out just a few months after the vinyl LP & cassette in May of '83, on MCA MCAD-5419. Because it was one of the earliest CDs to come out here, all w/ the original "5419" no. were Japan-for-U.S. pressings (have yet to see a West Germany-for-U.S. pressing, although MCA also relied on WG for making CDs in the early days). Photos on Discogs: THE FIXX - "Reach the Beach" (U.S. CD) Of course, in addition to "Saved By Zero", the CD also featured two other top 40 hits, "One Thing Leads to Another" and "The Sign of Fire", so MCA 5419 will also need to be added under the listings for those songs as well. Although I wouldn't say they're easy to find, the "5419" originals do still turn up - in fact, here's a really nice copy currently up for grabs on eBay at a decent starting price: THE FIXX - "Reach the Beach" (U.S. CD)

Is the 45 version of "Saved by Zero" an edit or are
there mix differences? I have LP version, just
wondering if I need to seek the 45.
