All database CD appearances of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" run 4:10-4:13, except on the Love Rock CD (Time-Life HRD) where the song only runs 3:57. This is :15 shorter than the 45 (and presumably the LP too), so is this the result of an early fade, edit, or something else?

I have the same 3:57 version on Time-Life's Heart Rock 2-CD set (also "HRD" - are you sure about the title?). I did a quick check of this set, and there are at least 13 songs that have times that are 20-30 seconds too short. "You're Only Lonely" fades over a MINUTE early!
I seem to remember them all being early fades, but even if they're edits, they're most likely unique to this Time-Life disc. This was put out in 1988, and may have been some of the first CD appearances for some of these tracks.
This is pretty unrepresentative of the Time-Life collections, actually. I don't think I've used it to source anything except "All Cried Out", because of the rampant early fades.

My apologies, the cd in question is called Heart Rock and not Love Rock.
