I just tried replicating the 45 version of Laura Branigan's "Power of Love" from the LP version on CD and it cannot be successfully done because of vocal and mix differences between the two versions. Thus, I too am curious if the Soft Love CD that Ed speaks of contains the 45 version. Anyone know?

Coincidentally, the same can be said about Air Supply's single of "Power of Love." It cannot be edited from the album version --I tried -- because, as I recall, there was a vocal overlap problem or where the vocals weren't over the right instrumental at one pivotal point. Luckily, I realized I had the DVD of all the Air Supply videos; the single version was used for the video, so luckily I got it right off the DVD -- and in CD quality.

I've actually edited the LP version of "Power Of Love" and although it was tricky, I pulled it off. I didn't notice any mix differences between Ed's 45 and the LP version. What are the differences?

Aaron was kind enough to e-mail an mp3 of his homemade 45 edit of "Power of Love". After re-listening to the LP version, he convinced me that the LP can be edited to match the 45. What was throwing me off was the small edit that occurs around the 1:57 mark on the 45 where the verses "you are my lady" and "and you are my man" are apparently spliced together to make it sound like they run continuously, as opposed to the LP version where her voice cracks after "lady" then after a very short pause, she goes into the "and you are my man" verse.
I just looked up "Power of Love" in the database and am pleased to see that the 45 version has recently been made available on CD!

Wrong artist for "Power Of Love" Todd as that was intended to be Huey Lewis. But I did get the Mystic Music cd "Soft Love" OPCD1868 and the 45 version of "Power Of Love" by Laura Branigan is on that cd.
