Not a top 40 hit I know, but does anyone know if the true US 45 version of "A Trick Of The Night" is available on CD? The 45 is a different mix than the LP (and faded earlier), with some additional keyboards on the intro that are not on the LP.
The Greatest Hits Collection (CD London 828127 and 828158) almost contains the correct 45 version (the mix is the same), but it eliminates the initial instrumental passage and fades early.
The "True Confessions" remaster contains a version labeled "7 inch version", but it's not the U.S. 45; maybe this was the 45 version overseas.
My needledrop of the 45 contains too much distortion.
