Hey Pat,

Just thought it might be a smart idea to mention under the entry for Alphabet St. by Prince that on the Lovesexy CD, the song is not an isolated track--the entire CD was released as continuously programmed songs on ONE single track.

I always hated that. I chopped it up and reburned it myself.

This is odd as my copy of Lovesexy is not one continuous track but 9 individual tracks that are not segued together. The matrix number is 25720-2-D SRC-02.

wow. I wonder if that's a later copy or an earlier copy. I would really like to get a copy of the disc that has been broken down. I remember when the disc first came out, it was pretty much announced as it was released that it was going to be one continuous track, so I'm thinking maybe the version you have is a later pressing, Pat. If I knew that newer versions of the disc are separated, I'd pick up a copy. My matrix number is 25720-2 SRC+03.

I bought my copy of Lovesexy about 5 or 6 years ago, and it is one continuous track. I think I might have read somewhere that there are import versions where the tracks are separated. There might also be promotional copies with separated tracks. Pat, if your copy is a commercial US pressing, this is a surprise to me. I thought all of them were the 1-track version.

My copy is a US commercial copy but unfortunately I cannot tell you when I picked up this cd.

I just picked up another copy of the "Lovesexy" cd and this one is the segued version so there are two different version that were commercially available at one time. There are no differnces on the outside packaging that would tip you off as to which version is inside but on the cd itself the segued version has "songs are in a continuous sequence" printed on the cd itself.

That's interesting, Pat. I'll have to start hunting for the non-segued version. Thanks for looking into it!

me too. It's so hard to buy used CDs now because most of the used stores ARE gone, and ordering online doesn't give you the opportunity to examine the CDs!!!
