Good news for anyone who's been searching through thick and thin for Al Wilson's "I've Got a Feeling (We'll Be Seeing Each Other Again)" on CD... Up to this point, the song has only appeared on the out-of-print and practically impossible to find Beach Fever various artist CD on Ripete 2219. I've discovered on Amazon's website that the CD is scheduled to be reissued on the Green Hill label this coming July 28. The track listing is identical to the Repete pressing.

The big question though is whether "I've Got a Feeling" will be mastered from a tape source or a vinyl dub. Can anyone who has the Repete pressing of Beach Fever comment on the song's sound quality?

Yes, I have the Beach Fever CD and can comment on its quality. It sucks. They used lousy vinyl, very worn out. I used my own scratchy 45 as my source and it sounded better than this CD. I wish you had said this was ANYTHING but a reissue of the Repite CD.

And I doubt Green Hill will do anything to track down a master tape of this song.

I'd be willing to bet the Green Hill release of the Beach Fever CD is a straight reissue of the Ripete pressing right down to the audio mastering. So if the sound quality is as bad as you say, Gordon, then I'm definitely going to pass on this disc.

Well... Unless one doesn't mind lousy sounding vinyl, then I guess there's nothing to get excited about this release after all. :-(

In investigating this song, I noticed a fade difference between the LP and 45. The 45 is LONGER by about 7 seconds; it has one extra (unique) line of ad libs that can't be found on the LP. Interestingly, the label (Playboy) did the same thing on Hamilton Joe frank & Reynold's "Fallin' in Love", making the 45 longer than the LP by about 7 seconds. Seems to be a habit with them.

I don't know if this should be mentioned in the database since there aren't many versions on CD. But I'd vote to include it.

Oh and also, the fade starts significantly earlier on the LP version.

Are you going to give us the exact 45 and LP running times?
