I just purchased a used Capitol Albums V.2 box set, and it seems to have the incorrect pressings of Rubber Soul and Beatles VI. I say "seems" because it might be a mix and match.

The seller accidentally sent me one of the discs from Capitol Albums Volume 1 instead of Rubber Soul. He just sent me the correct disc today, and I have to mail the incorrect one back.

To complicate matters more, he didn't seem to know the difference between the correct and incorrect mono mixes, but he had two copies of the Volume 2 set. I know for sure that my Rubber Soul is the incorrect version, as it has a false start on the mono version of "I'm Looking Through You." What I don't know is if the Beatles VI is also incorrect.

Is there any way to tell from the matrix number on the actual discs? I know the sticker on the wrapper has an "SK1", but that obviously doesn't help me since I bought it used.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't remember all the details, but I do remember that I checked the number on the sticker when I bought it new at Costco, and it was the number for the correct remaster. And mine does not have the false start on the mono "I'm Looking Through You."

The number on the inner ring on "Beatles IV" on my copy is A 7301 094635749922 C60404-09.

Thanks, Brian! Interestingly, that's the same number on the inner ring of my copy, too.

Well, maybe only "Rubber Soul" is incorrect.

That's what I was thinking.
