I could've sworn I had brought this up on the board before, but there's no mention in the database nor on the forum that I could find.
On U2's Best Of 1990-2000, "Mysterious Ways" has an alternate vocal at 1:39. The version I hear all the time has the lyric "she sees a man inside the child." On the Best Of CD, that lyric is "and no question she knows why."
Is this the only CD that has the alternate lyric?

The Best of 1990-2000 (2002)
is the only U2 compilation with
this alternate lyric on "Mysterious
Ways". U218 Singles (2006)
uses the same version as its parent
album Achtung Baby (1991).

What is that version with the alternate lyrics origins?
Where did it first appear?
It's the only song I enjoy by U2.
