My commercial 45 (confirmed as A&M 796, is styrene, with deadwax info of "A&M 1186") has a listed time of (2:45), but an actual time of (2:48). The ten current database CDs that include this song (all stereo) have unusually wide ranging run times, from (2:39) to (2:54).

the vinyl 45 does run 2:48 and if you speed up the version
on the cd "all-time greatest hits" on sandstone to 2:48
from 2:54 you have the true vinyl 45....but you'll still
have the mono/stereo differences, though....

I was preparing to speed up the stereo to match the 45,
and then add some reverb because the 45 has reverb on his
vocal. BUT, I then sync'd them to compare the mixes
closer and found the 45 has a minor overdub not in the
stereo. There is a ride cymbal being tapped on every snare
beat in the mono mix. It's nearly impossible to notice
since the song has a lot of hi-hats and ride cymbals going
on already.
But I kid you not, they added ONE more to the mono. Just
FYI.
