Okay, am I the only one who has this issue? I just pulled out my Michael Bolton CD Soul Provider to compare the album version with the 7" on the Greatest Hits CD...and instead of finding the 4:49 album version, I found that my Soul Provider CD also has the 4:17 radio edit!!! I have CK 45012, but it's a BMG direct mail disc. It seems as if they used the 7" version for this pressing of the CD instead of the true album version!!!

Hi Budaniel,
Please don't forget that later pressings of the 'Soul Provider' CD had substituted single mixes of "How Am I Supposed..." & "When I'm Back On My Feet Again".
Mick Guzauski remixed & edited "How Am I Supposed..." for single release; there was no album-length remix to sub, so the short single mix was used.
Andy
[Edited to add: The later CD pressing also contained the single mix (by David Frazer) of "How Can We Be Lovers".]

oh man--i didn't know that. So i guess that means the disc I just ordered from amazon to get the real album version is actually going to include the radio mix as well.

Thanks elcoleccionista. I've send you my e-mail address.
Pat, it should really be noted in the database that all later editions of this CD replaced the album version with the single version, without, apparently, changing the product number.

I have the new pressing of this cd on order and will indeed make note of differences in the pressings when I get to review the cd.

Does anyone know if there's ANY Michael Bolton Import collection that uses the original album version instead of the 7" version? Thanks.

Can anybody see the Discogs' page for Soul
Provider (the parent album for "How Am I Supposed to
Live Without You") to check which CD releases of that
album contain the 4:48 version of "How Am I Supposed to
Live Without You"?

The last single from the Album, "Georgia On My Mind", also had a separate Single Version which had Kenny G. on Saxophone on the intro, but I don't recall it being on any copies of the album or on any of his (Michael's) compilations.
On "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", I think there are also some different vocals in places on the original Album Version compared to the remix/edit/Single Version. I know on the Album Version, he sings the line as "How can I blame ya" whereas on the Single Version, it sounds like, "How can I blame yew".

I think one easy way to distinguish
which CDs contain the longer
version and which ones the shorter
one is on the matrix/runout. I'm
not sure if European and foreign CD
pressings of Soul Provider
also have the changed the mixes of
the songs discussed here.
