I never picked up a DJ copy on this song but remembered that I had two copies on the A&M Forget Me Not label with "Come Sail Away" on the flip. Knowing A&M has issued other DJ edits by mistake on the Forget Me Not series I actually timed both copies, which both had a label time of 5:29. Sure enough, both copies are the 3:38 edit. So if you're looking for the edit, look for a striped A&M Forget Me not re-issue.

Bill,
Thanks for confirming my findings. I recently found a NM Forget Me Not pressing of this 45, sure enough, "Fooling Yourself" was 3:38. Had the promo 45 deadwax too. Compared deadwax to the DJ single in the WFLI archives. Exact match.
