TM Century's CHR HitDisc and GoldDisc has "Allison Road 94" instead of the LP version. At the time I was in radio, we played this cut from HitDisc, so it was the only version we ever played. Was this the more commonly played version on CHR?

Aaron, although we did play most of their tunes on-air, I don't recall us
ever playing "Allison Road". I believe "Allison Road 94" was A&M's effort to
create, if you listen to it vs. the LP version, sort of a "Pop Remix" for the
song. (I'll bet the band wouldn't exactly love my description!) And, since it
was the fourth and final song serviced to CHR from their huge "New
Miserable Experience" CD, A&M probably just wanted to give radio a more
"Top 40 friendly option", as they went still deeper into the album. I
actually prefer "94" myself. Here is my promo CD single's details, with the
label "hedging their bets":
-Gin Blossoms-"Allison Road" (31458 8202 2)
1-LP Version (listed 3:18; actual 3:17)
2-Allison Road 94 (listed 3:21; actual 3:19)

The band had a penchant for re-recording many of their
songs from scratch, each time with more and more polish.
"Hey Jealousy" and "Found Out About You" were originally
recorded for their 1989 indie release, Dusted, and
they're really raw on that release.
By the time they started releasing the '94 versions on the
promo CD singles, the tracks were super-glossy. But in a
good way, to my ears.

The left and right channels for a handful of tracks from the New Miserable Experience album are reversed on
the "Outside Looking In" Best of compilation from 1999.
