Can anyone confirm if there is a speed difference between the 45 and LP of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary"? I thought I had once read somewhere that the 45 is faster, but I have no way of verifying this since I don't have a vinyl 45 or LP copy.

I had read the exact opposite, that the 45 was a bit slower
than the stereo mix. The version on the singles collection
is a bit slower too.

I bought both the 45 and the Bayou Country LP in early 1969. The listed times are the same, at (3:07). Here are their actual timings:

45: (3:09)

LP: (3:05)

Both fade out at the exact same point in the song itself, so that four-second difference does makes the speed difference noticeable.

Thanks very much for the run time info, Yah Shure! Looks like The Hits Man was right about the 45 running slower than the LP, not the other way around.

At least Fantasy got something right with the singles set.
