Back in early 2005, Billboard's "Hot Digital Tracks"
chart listed Mario's stand-alone single of "Let Me Love
You" as "Radio Edit," which is, I'm sure, how the digital
single was notated. (Regrettably, I did not purchase it
back in the day.) The digital single is still in print;
however, at some point the notation was changed to "Album
Version."
Since the US promo CD single contained only the Album
Version, Instrumental, and Call Out Hook, with no "Radio
Edit" in sight, and no cursing whatsoever in the song, I
wondered what this Radio Edit version could be.
Just the other day I found a Mario jukebox 45 of "Let Me
Love You (Radio Edit)" b/w "How Could You (Radio Edit)."
I carefully compared this Radio Edit to the Album Version
and they seem to be identical and running the exact same
length.
Anyone have a clue as to why this track was ever called
Radio Edit?
