This one put up quite a fight, but I found the edit points to recreate the 45 from the LP version. The key for this one was to use the background instrumentation, like the one-note background guitar line, for clues. It's also a drum machine (123.6 BPM throughout), which works well for getting the edits on-beat, but obscures where you actually are in the song.
I used the Japan-for-US target pressing of The Nightfly as my source; I think the mastering of the common US version is the same, but the indexing of the start of the track may be off by few samples.
This includes some out-of-sequence edits, and as a result, it's probably easiest if you first extract the six segments from the LP version, label them conveniently, and stitch them together afterwards.
Segment 1:
7 beats long (not counting the bass intro and starting the count at the downbeat of the short intro drum fill)
Extends from 0:00.0 to 0:05.0 in both the 45 edit and the LP version
This segment ends on a snare hit.
Segment 2:
193 beats long
Extends from 0:05.0 to 1:38.6 in the 45 edit
Extends from 0:24.4 to 1:58.0 of the LP version
This segment begins with a snare hit and ends on a downbeat.
Segment 3:
100 beats long
Extends from 1:38.6 to 2:27.2 of the 45 edit
Extends from 2:54.3 to 3:42.9 of the LP version
This segment begins on a downbeat, and ends on the downbeat that falls on the first syllable of the word "study".
Segment 4:
84 beats long
Extends from 2:27.2 to 3:07.9 of the 45 edit
Extends from 2:13.6 to 2:54.3 of the LP version
This segment starts with the downbeat on the first syllable of the word "study", and ends on a downbeat.
Segment 5:
8 beats long
Extends from 3:07.9 to 3:11.9 of the 45 edit
Extends from 4:23.6 to 4:27.5 of the LP version
This segment begins and ends on downbeats.
Segment 6:
72 beats long
Extends from 3:11.9 to 3:46.8 of the 45 edit
Extends from 5:06.4 to 5:41.3 of the LP version
This segment begins and ends on downbeats.
Fade is 32 beats long, begins on downbeat at the end of a short drum fill
Extends from 3:31.3 to 3:46.8 of the 45 edit
Extends from 5:25.8 to 5:41.3 of the LP version
So, your recreation will run 3:46.8, with edits at 0:05.0, 1:38.6, 2:27.2, 3:07.9, and 3:11.8, and a 32-beat fade from 3:31.3 to 3:46.8.
