Here's another one for the vinyl collectors. Elton John's "I Feel Like A Bullet (In The Gun Of Robert Ford)" was the B-side of "Grow Some Funk Of Your Own." My question is was the 45 of "I Feel Like. . ." an edit of the Rock Of The Westies LP version (which would be on the Greatest Hits Volume 2 CD), or was it a straight reissue?
Thanks.

the song was issued as the b side of mca 40505 (grow some funk of your own as the a side) and is the same version as from the rock of the westies cd.......the run time is 5:23 while the 45's face states the run time as 5:30 which is incorrect...

Thanks, Ed! I figured you'd know that one.

FYI, Cash Box ranked the two sides of this single separately, unlike Billboard and Variety, which just showed both at one position. I Feel Like a Bullet peaked at #18 in Cash Box in the 3/6/76 issue. Grow Some Funk peaked a bit higher than in Billboard, #9 in the 2/28/76 issue.

By the way, same thing is true of the Beatles' Long and Winding Road/For You Blue -- Cash Box ranked them separately. For You Blue only hit #71 in the 5/23/70 issue.
