If I may politely make a database suggestion regarding The Ides of March's "Vehicle"... There is currently one database CD with a "45 mix" comment. For consistency purposes, an "LP mix" comment should probably appear next to each stereo CD entry so that database subscribers can more easily spot the fact that a 45/LP mix difference exists.

On the mono version, on the intro of the song the horns have a quick dive down (but remain there) just as the vocal starts.
Apparently to make sure that you can hear the vocal. It doesn't sound like it's dropped down as much on the stereo mix. The mono
mix has a better punch overall and the guitar solo stays strong. On the stereo mix, the mixing from channel to channel of the
guitar solo doesn't mix well to mono.

And of course, the stereo mix has MANY tape drop outs, The mono mix does not. I believe those drop outs go all the way back to the
vinyl stereo LP.

Dug out the mono single mix and yep, stereo has dropouts
and sounds uneven as I can best describe it, while the
mono mix just chugs along nicely. Same with followup
single "Superman" from summer 1970. Mono single has nice
punch.

Pretty sure the mono mix is available on a Digital 45.
