Here's another one for the editors. Any way to extract the (2:59) commercial 45 or the (2:48) short DJ 45 from the (4:45) LP/long DJ 45 version of "Hey Big Brother"?
Thanks.

You can edit Hey Big Brother from the long version to the short at ever point except the very beginning because it starts with the symbol crash only on the stock 45 and short DJ side of the promo. I also don't think you can call say "LP/long DJ 45" as I don't believe there was an actual LP version. If I remember correctly the band recorded that single to promote their "In Concert" album. Instead of issuing the live version from that album they released that studio verson to promote the live album. The only place I believe that long version existed was on the DJ 45. Side one mono (short), side two stereo (long). Since the long DJ version was the only stereo version of the studio recording issued, it has been on all CDs that I'm aware of. Someone may know more and correct me on this. But I believe it's the case.

Which explains why Pat never called the (4:45) version the LP version (I always thought it was just an omission, plus we all know what happens when you start assuming. . .). Interesting.
