Huh... I just bought the Special Radio Edit for "Jesus to a Child" a few weeks ago, Todd. I knew there was more than one promo, but I'd assumed the Radio Edit was the same as the Special Radio Edit. Interesting.

Just out of curiosity, did any of the singles from FAITH have radio edits for radio? I have most of the 45s and 12" singles, and I've been surprised that several, especially "One More Try" and "Father Figure", were released as 45s running 5:30+. Did radio play edits?

I don't recall ever hearing an edited single from the Faith album on the radio, not even the very long "One More Try."

Though there may not have been an official edit for the single "Faith", all the stations I listened to edited out the string/classical part of the intro and came in at the guitar strumming.

Don't forget that "Monkey" was a special promo/commercial MIX.

I don't recall ever hearing an edited version of "Father Figure" or "One More Try" on the radio either. As for "Faith", I do remember hearing the song on the radio both with the organ fade-in intro and without the organ intro. I don't know if a promo 45 was ever issued without the intro intact, or if DJs simply cued the song to the point where the acoustic guitar starts strumming.

I also have never heard of any official edits of the Faith singles mentioned above; however, TM Century issued the "Faith" edit with the intro chopped off. This doesn't necessarily mean it came from an official promo, though.

My TM Century GoldDisc has an "Edit" of "Too Funky," in addition to the standard single version. The edit cuts the talking off the ending, so you just hear some slight reverb after the "yeah, yeah." I suppose it's possible that they created this version themselves.

Any chance there was a CD single promo for Mother's Pride? Also isn't there a version similar to Show Me The Way by STYX that has a Gulf War talking caller tributes on it?
Thanks in advance..

I'm only aware of the "Waiting for That Day" promo CD,
which also contains "Mother's Pride." I don't see
anything on Discogs.

I also remember that version, and I believe there was
also one for Oleta Adams' "Get Here" at the time. I
believe it was 106.1 FM in Philadelphia that I heard them
on. I haven't been able to find them anywhere since then.

Found a video on YouTube of the version of "Mother's Pride" with radio caller tributes being played from a cassette recorder. Couldn't find one for Oleta
Adams' "Get Here", though.
