Ed, I sent you a copy from TM Studios Prime Cuts labeled
as the 'Edit' for your review and comparison.

john was kind enough to send the edit version of the song
from his promo disc and it is an edit of the 3:25 lp
version and runs 3:18.....it edits out 0:07 after the
second chorus bridge and before the third verse
starts....no lyrics are edited, just 0:07 of the
bridge.....pat....the db should be updated to reflect the
promo cds run time info....thx john!!

I have a (3:04) version described as the "Pop Mix" on
the Universal Music Canada promo disc Interscope
Radio Compilation Volume.04.2006. (Canadian labels
usually did not produce promo CDs for individual
songs.) This version is the same as the LP version and
the 'edit' version on the U.S. promo until about the
2:00 mark where the LP version and 'edit' both slow
down before the "What's the hook, the twist within
this verbose mystery?" lyrics start (As Ed points out,
the instrumental part before these lyrics start is
seven seconds shorter on the 'edit'). On the "Pop
Mix", however, the 'slow down' and the following
slowed-down verse do not occur and are instead
replaced by an extra verse that does not appear on the
LP version or 'edit' at all. Although I can't find any
evidence of it, there must be a U.S. promo out there
somewhere with this "Pop Mix".
