Yes, I have. Not easy... only one edit point, but fairly difficult to get just right.

I'm sending you and the mailing list Brian's edit. It's uploading as I type, so you'll have it soon.

Yes, seems like the majority of 45s were still in mono till about '72, some even into the mid-1970s.

The odd thing is that my original 45 is stereo, but my red and black "Hall of Fame" single is mono!

The mono 45 version is scheduled to be included in the April 2012 Sony Legacy release of the Pearl Sessions double CD.

The mono DJ 45 is sped up slightly and sounds like a dedicated mono mix. Acoustic guitar sounds slightly louder at around 2:23

my commercial 45 for the janis joplin song 'me and bobby
mcgee' issued as columbia 45314 is in stereo and has a
listed run time on the label as 4:09 but actually runs
4:10....not a big deal, but the lone cd that contains the
note '45 version' only runs 4:06.....so something is
array.....thanks to brian who sent me his custom edit and
it is spot on, except you'll need to fade out the last
second to have it run 4:10....thanks, brian....

Well, the "45 version" CD in the database is the mono promo 45 edit, so it's a different mix. It may well run faster or fade earlier than the stereo 45 edit. EDIT: Oh, never mind, I didn't notice that the stereo 45 edit is on a Reader's Digest CD.

Bumping this thread up for new board member collectahit. This thread may give you the info you are seeking regarding the stereo edit.

Thanks, Santi! Yes, I am a new member, so I didn't search out this topic before I began a new thread.
After much time and effort, I still can't edit the album version to match the stereo single.
Which Reader's Digest CD is the stereo single edit on? I might just have to buy a copy.

Using the version on Essential, you'll edit out 3:28.510 to 3:47.719. The edit point is right before the snare beat on the 4th count in the measure.

The edit that worked for me with the version from "Janis Joplin's Greatest Hits" is to cut out 3:30.266 to 3:49.648. After trimming the silence at the beginning and end, the length came out to 4:10.
