the radio mix from the australian import cd single has the
track as the 'radio mix' with a listed run time of 4:08 but
actually runs 4:05.....the db states the 'radio mix' runs
3:56 with all the db entries running between 3:50-
3:55..........does anyone have the us promo cd single that
could list the tracks, versions, stated and actual run
times....thx edtop40

As you may recall, the parent album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was essentially two solo albums packaged as a 2-CD set by Outkast. When Arista released the first promo CD, they also issued a 2-disc set, featuring one track from Big Boi and one from Andre.

Arista 82876-55883-2

Disc 1
1. The Way You Move (Radio Mix) (listed & actual 3:55)
2. The Way You Move (Instrumental) (listed & actual 3:55)

Disc 2
1. Hey Ya! (Radio Mix) (listed 4:09; actual 3:56)
2. Hey Ya! (Instrumental) (listed 4:09; actual 3:55)

I've heard a mix of "Hey Ya!" that is slightly different from the regular mix. It's noticeably different on the opening "1, 2, 3," which has some additional echo and reverb not on the regular mix. The "Radio Mix" on my promo CD does not have any censored lyrics, unlike the clean album, which as I recall censors the line "don't want to meet your mama / just want to make you ****."

If I recall correctly, the commercial 45's of both "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move" match the promo CD singles, and both are 'Radio Mix' b/w 'Instrumental'. Runtimes are almost certainly the same. I can verify upon request.

Odd that they didn't censor that lyric, especially on a
radio promo cd single.

Did your station play the radio mix from the promo,
Aaron?

I've always heard the uncensored version on the local stations in
Dallas.

All these years that I've played this songs at weddings
and events, it turns out I've played the uncensored
version.

I edited in the censored portion last night to the radio
mix.

I always play the uncensored Radio Mix at weddings, and nobody ever raises an eyebrow.

When you say censored mix, are you referring to the version
where "come-uh" was ducked?
I know that version was released on Jones' music service
CDs, but it was designated something along the lines of
"JRN clean". The radio mix on my TM-Century HitDisc has
the line intact.

Yes, exactly. The clean version of the album censors that one line.
