I picked up a stack of reissue 45s this week and was
intrigued to find a couple inconsistencies between two
Epic reissue 45s of "Hold Your Head Up". In case
you're in the market, be aware that both list 6:15 but
neither time is correct.
The '70s-era Memory Lane pressing fades around 3:17.
I suspect this is the original 45 version. (Deadwax
ZSS 156404-2AB.)
The gray '80s-era Hall of Fame pressing fades around
2:52. (Deadwax ZSS 156404-2AC.) I suspect this is
the DJ 45 version, but based on the database, this
could be a failed edit attempt. Any clues as to
whether this is correct?
(Both copies seem to be backed with the same edit of
"God Gave Rock and Roll To You" -- listed 3:28/actual
~3:20.)

Nope, the reissue is listed 6:15. My 70s-era blue & gold
Memory Lane reissue is like Eric's and agrees with my
commercial 1972 copy, though the deadwax is different
than his...suffix on mine is -2K.
Can't comment on whether your later release is the same
as the promo edit. My promo has a rather abrupt edit at
1:44 and fades at 2:51.

The 90s reissue distributed by
Collectables retains the 6:15 time. I
don't own it, so I can't comment on what
it has.

Coincidence?
Or was it actually 3:15am when you posted this?
;)
(Edit: It said "6:15" before logging in, but once logged in, it now says "8:15." And so the timing confusion continues...)
