Was wondering after about 1990 45cat is useless and discogs has cd single art, but not as high quality in some instances. I know for the 2007-2019 period wikipedia has cover art but it is very low res, and not as good as 45cat is with their scans. Does anyone here know where to get better cover art, even if one has to pay for it on a site or join somewhere?
I figure just like we all love music, someone somewhere must collect all this cover art in high res....

I have been scanning and cleaning up the fronts of 45 or 12” picture
sleeves and cd single front covers for about 7 years. I take months or a
year off from time to time but I do have about 1200 picture sleeves, just
the fronts, cleaned up. Maybe a hundred or so CD single covers also.
45cat and other sites are good for the backs or the image of the media
but it’s hard to find clean versions of the front artwork. So I started
doing just that. I have many many more to scan and fix. For the 90s
and beyond I don’t have too much 45s but that’s mostly because I can’t
afford to buy the picture sleeve or I can’t find them in good enough
condition to try to make them look good. CD single artwork is what I
have been doing lately. I have a few boxes of those to scan. I don’t
have to like the music to clean the art up but it helps me to get
motivated. If it’s a cool or different front piece of artwork then the
normal LP or cd and if I can afford it I will try to scan and clean it up for
my never ending project.

Hi. I did post some CD covers at Album Art Exchange - a fantastic site - a
long time ago. Those are at only 600 or 800 pxl so I should update those.
You have to be logged in as a member to get non watermarked images.
Search drop down should say "uploaded by" and put "ptgraphics" in the
search field. I uploaded a few CD singles; Bob Seger "Turn The Page" is
one. I tried to put stuff on the site they didn't have before or I had a much,
much better version. Everything I do I own. I don't take stuff from the web.
I keep saying I am going to do a website with all I have done but still haven't
done it. I even have a domain parked and ready to build on. So, I still want to
do it but I am not a website guy so I keep putting it off.
I think my stuff, for the most part, looks pretty good. The early ones from
2010 are not my best work but they are far from bad. One thing I do is not
make it look like a photo. It's a printed piece I scanned so I try to make it
look like what you would hold in your hand. So if I can help it I try to keep
the paper texture etc. but I do fix some wonky printing issues if I can, like
color casts, etc. I scanned a Michael Bolton CD Single a few months ago
and the dudes skin was almost orange! I looked online and what I found was
orange also, so it must have been a bad print run. I fixed it somewhat on my
finished version.
