I came across this video on YouTube of Bob Segers's "Shakedown". It's labelled as "7" Movie Version". The only difference on this version appears to be
the intro which is different from the more common version. Now I've never seen the movie, but for anyone who has, was this version actually played at
some point in the movie? I have the "Beverly Hills Cop 2" soundtrack, and this version is not on there. However, it was mentioned in the comments
section of this video that this version appeared on Vinyl Copies of the Soundtrack. So does anyone here have a Vinyl copy of the "Beverly Hills Cop 2"
soundtrack and can confirm this version with the different intro is on it?

Interesting! I've never heard that version before. I do have the vinyl LP for the soundtrack, but I've never played it. I'll grab it this afternoon and put it on the turntable.

Sounds like the version that was in the movie to me.

Was this 'movie' version exclusive to the soundtrack or
was it released on 45's at the time? Did the movie version
receive airplay?

I don't think it was ever released on any 45's and I know
I never heard it on the radio at all. According to a
comment on YouTube, it was only on the vinyl LP
soundtrack. I have the CD and it has the common version.

To follow up on this, since I clearly forgot two years ago, my vinyl LP soundtrack has the normal version. The "movie version" in the YouTube link is not on my copy of the LP.

Further investigating the YT link, I believe it's fan made. That guitar intro can be lifted directly from the movie without any talking or sound effects, so I believe someone just spliced it onto the normal version. There's no evidence of it being a vinyl dub, and the movie itself has an additional guitar overdub after the point where the fan-made edit switches to the original mix.
