I distinctly remember during 2003 that my radio station never played the slow version of the song (and for good reason, I'm glad they didn't). Britney was at the height of her popularity and even Toxic got the Lenny B Remix treatment back then when I was listening. They played what I recently discovered (and searched high and low to find) as the Dr. Octavo's Translucent Mixshow Radio Edit, which is 4:12 (the longer version being 5:14, the radio edit fades out earlier). I do find that often radio would play these remixes of the songs out of nowhere. They did it a lot back in the 2000-2003 timeframe and I am slowly working to find many of these wonderful remixes lost to time.
Not saying the regular version did not get airplay, the remix completely changes the tone of the song from a soft one to a haunting one. Anyone else ever heard this incredible remix version on the radio?
