I have the album version of "Make It Like It Was" by
Regina Belle, from early 1991. Does anyone know if the
single version is a different mix? A promo CD version
is listed at Discogs and I can afford to buy a copy.

But if the mix is the same, and the single version was
just an early fade, then I'm good to go with what I
have. I did open my wav file in Audacity and faded
from the 4:00 mark to the 4:05 mark and the fade
sounded pretty decent.

Still, being a real stickler for authenticity, if I
need that promo disc, then I shall buy it.

It's an edit.

Does anyone know if this is a single edit of the LP version? And is it available anywhere?

I went ahead and bought a copy of the promo release. I
found a copy for sale from a seller I've dealt with
before on Discogs. I don't know if the edit version is
on any compilation of any kind.

Kiefer2, thank you for the information.

Robert, if we're allowed to do so, I will shoot you an
MP3 file of this once I've ripped it.

An MP3 would be fine. I'd like to try to replicate the edit. Thanks!

I do have this now. If anyone wants an MP3 of it, let me
know.

The single version is on the Sony-BMG set Chart
Toppers (70-90)
, which was discussed on this forum
fifteen years ago:

I was not aware of the previous discussion of this
record. Thank you for the information.
