Pat:
It looks like the commercial 45 of Richard Marx's "Take This Heart" is identical to the LP version. Therefore, the comment in the database regarding the 3:54 length found on the 1990 - Only Rock 'n Roll - 1994 CD (JCI 3132) can actually be revised to read (faded :15 earlier than the 45 and LP).

I have what appears to be the album version on Now That's What I Call Music 23 (UK), Hot Hits - Pop - Vol. 14 (different EQ and a little more compression than Now 23 mastering), and Spotlight On Hits Vol. 7. They all run 4:09 or 4:10.
I have what is denoted as "Radio Remix" on Top Hits USA RH13, which runs about 3:47. The remix is subtle, and I guess the best way to describe it is that the brightness of the drums is dulled in the remix. The snare in the remix is boomier, where the album version snare is poppier - listen to the portion around 15 seconds in. No other obvious differences to my ear. If you didn't have them side-by-side for comparison, the remix would probably just sound like an early fade.
Is it possible that the Only Rock 'n Roll CD has the radio remix?

We got into the station two different, one-track promo CD singles for this song, and here are the particulars:
Richard Marx-"Take This Heart" (DPRO-79170)
1-LP Version (listed 4:10; actual 4:09)
Richard Marx-"Take This Heart" (DPRO-79425)
1-Acoustic Remix (listed & actual 3:52)
To me, this "Acoustic Remix" sounds much louder, and a lot closer to the LP Version than its title might suggest, and clocking in at just :05 longer than his "Radio Remix", I'm betting that what Ron is actually referring to is the "Acoustic Remix" version, which appears on that second promo CD single of mine.
