Thankfully, we have this message board to discuss our findings in such situations. Here's a case where I disagree--and think "version" is more appropriate. Given the vast time disparity between the 45 and LP, and the fact the extension of the LP length almost morphs into a different song for the last few minutes, I think "version" is an appropriate desgnation. I always thought of "LP length" as "the song ends similarly as the 45, but it's just a little longer." Similar to the way I feel about Foghat's "Slow Ride."

All CD appearances in the database of Stevie Wonder's "Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You)" currently contain the comment: (LP version). However, I just compared a vinyl 45 dub to the song as it appears on Wonder's At the Close of a Century box set and found that the 45 is simply an early fade of the LP.
