Thanks much, Jim! While my theory regarding the 45 length has indeed proven to be true, further research is leading me to think that "Don't Mess Up a Good Thing" never appeared on an official Fontella Bass or Bobby McClure LP release. So does anyone know when and where the stereo mix of this song first surfaced?

According to the database, there are four domestic CD appearances of Fontella Bass & Bobby McClure's "Don't Mess Up a Good Thing".... Two of the CDs are in mono with a 2:51 run time, while the other two are in stereo and run 2:58. Currently, there are no comments in the database explaining the :07 length difference. Do we have a case here where the 2:51 mono mix is reflective of the vinyl 45 length, while the 2:58 stereo mix is based on the vinyl LP length?
