I have a small stack of 50 Cent promo CDs in front of me. Here are the details...

I'm only seeing a promo 12" for "P.I.M.P." on Discogs. (Though there is a bar code on the label, so maybe the "promo" designation is incorrect.)

Yes, I'm guessing the promo designation must not be correct if it has a barcode. It looks like on eBay there are copies with and without a barcode. The track listing on both has the "Album Version Clean" as the lead track. Seems strange that they would market the record as "Remix" and "New Version" but then stick this mix on the B-side.

To my surprise, there actually was an official Interscope promo CD-R issued for "Wanksta." There is no catalog number for this CD, and I suspect it was mainly issued to mix show DJs. In large bold letters on the back insert, it says, "Vinyl is in your mailbox."
The versions are as follows: 1. Clean (listed & actual 3:39) 2. Album (listed & actual 3:39) 3. Instrumental (listed & actual 3:41) |
