When the song starts to fade out (on both versions), there's a sax that is different between the 45 and LP. On the LP version, the sax plays some notes at an octive higher than on the 45 version. I believe this is the only difference between the two versions, other than the edit you pointed out already. EdisonLite, you may want to check the 45 dub with the CD/LP version again.

Also, the version on the UK CD single matches the version from the US vinyl 45, so I don't believe there's a difference between the UK and US single versions.

Edited by aaronk

If you can send me an mp3 of your UK CD single, I can compare with what I have.

Also, is it possible that the UK single mix is different from the US single mix?

Ed & I did a comparison of his 45, and the LP version cannot be edited to make the 45 version. There are some unique vocals (or instrumentation---can't remember which) right near the fade out of the song. I specifically bought the UK CD single to have the correct single version.

In case anyone wishes to know, the first 5 seconds are deleted, i.e. all of the solo drums except the last snare-hit before the musical instruments start. This brings the song from 4:30 to 4:25. To then get the single version (of 4:14), the final 11 seconds of the song must be cut. A new fade must be made and it starts a few seconds earlier than where the LP version starts to fade. It starts at approximately 4:03 (on the words "love me") and ends at 4:14.
