Author: Bellenger1981
Subject: 1684
Posted: 14 January 2021 at 1:05am

Which version was the hit version in the U.S.? The
"Radio Mix" or the original "LP Version"?

The U.K. CD single features an uncredited mix as track
1 (noted as "Radio Mix" on other releases). Track 2 is
the "LP Version". This U.K. CD single notes "remixed
by Chris Thomas" under the title, which I would assume
is referring to track 1 only. But, who knows? Perhaps
he remixed both tracks.

According to Discogs, the U.S. CD album of "Hormonally
Yours" lists "Stay" as being a remix by Chris Thomas.
Do the U.S. CD single and U.S. cassette single (and
the U.S. album, for that matter) feature this "Radio
Mix" (remix by Chris Thomas) instead of the original
U.K. LP Version (which may not be a Chris Thomas
remix)?

FYI. In case one is wondering about the difference
between the two mixes, perhaps most noticeable is that
the bass drum comes in at ~ 42 seconds on the "Radio
Mix", whereas it does not come in until ~ 1:05 on the
original LP version. The "Radio Mix" also has a
rain/thunderstorm effect over the intro and a
"ticking" noise starting at ~ 1:02.

I am just curious which version was featured on the
commercial single copies and album in the U.S.

Thank you.

Edited by Bellenger1981
