Since this CD series is suppose to bring to light every James Brown single released during his King Records era, does this mean that some 45 pressings of "Escape-ism" contained the original hit mix, while other 45 pressings that contained the remix?

Edited by Todd Ireland

According to www.allmusic.com, "Escape-ism" is broken up into two parts on James Brown's Hot Pants CD (Polydor 314517985) with printed run times as follows:

Escap-ism, Pt. 1 (3:18)
Escap-ism, Pt. 2 (4:10)

I'm wondering if perhaps the 4:02 version on the Make It Funky disc is "Part 2" of the song? Pat, could you please make a comparison of "Part 2" on the Hot Pants CD and see if it matches up with the 4:02 version on the Make It Funky CD?

Your point about the (4:02) version is well taken, and does appear to warrant some sort of additional notation.
