LOL, that's pretty much the same thing that happened to me, Mark. My copy is fairly clean (sounds like VG+). Yeah I recently discovered that when trying to re-create the edit. I did the first 2 cuts then noticed the music got all chopped up.Then I realized...this ain't happenin'

There is a high likelihood that GRT only distributed Casino
Records nationally. Which might well explain the GML, Inc
purchase of the "I.O.U." master tapes. GML, Inc purchased
many a small label which went under. Country labels

Digital Musicworks International seems to turn up when I look for lost Diamond Records masters as well.... almost always from scratchy disc dubs but a few first time stereo cuts have turned up so who knows where they are getting their music from... It's curious that the GML-owned master so seldom turns up, since just about everything else they own is readily available. (It's also curious they would own the hit version of this song, since numerous country artists have re-recorded their hits for Gusto/Starday.) I purchased the hit version on iTunes in 2006 from an album called "Country Masters: Jimmy Dean". It's in stereo with pretty bad sound quality and very, very hissy. (It sounds like it may well have been mastered from a cassette of the 'IOU' album.) The copyright line read: "(p) 2005 Digital Musicworks International". I just checked to see whether it's still available, and although the album is still on iTunes, it is now described as a 'partial album' with only eight tracks and "I.O.U." is not one of them. And in Canada, Dan Hill's LP, "Longer Fuse" was released on
GRT of Canada. And his biggest hit "Sometimes When We
Touch" is on that LP. The master tapes for the Jimmy Dean
"I.O.U. single and LP are owned by GML, Inc. Which you know
as King, Gusto, Highland, and other labels. So owned by Moe
Lytell.
